Happy Birthday Abe!
In honor of my brother, Abraham, turning 20 I thought I’d write a little something something.
It feels really weird to see my younger brothers growing up with my middle brother turning 20 and my youngest one turning 18 after summer and going to college. Whenever I’m with them I feel as if we were still kids playing around like we did when we were younger. But as weird as it is, I get so excited and proud seeing them grow up.
People say that middle children are usually the weird ones or odd ones in the family and I’d have to say that my brother Abe is not an exception to that saying. Just kidding.. sort of. Abe is probably the hardest working person in my family. I love watching him work and study because as much as he may complain about it he works his butt off and motivates me to approach my own work and studies with the same intensity. Not only is he the hardest worker in my family, he’s also the most creative one. Even though we’ve been playing the guitar for the same amount of time, he’s probably 100x better than me and has a knack for picking up instruments really easily (even if he doesn’t fully pursue them). You can see evidence of both his creativity and hard work in his videos. Although he’s only started recently in the past 2 years, I think he has an amazing talent for it and has even been receiving video job offers and opportunities. As if he wasn’t already stacked with all the gifts and talents, he’s also a great leader. As much as he complains about always being the one who sets everything up whether it be outings, casual lunches, and even basketball games, he’ll probably always be the guy that people ask “What’re we doing, Abe?”. I know he doesn’t feel like he’s the kind of guy who always knows what he’s doing or what’s happening, but his leadership has made people trust (especially me) that even though he doesn’t know he’ll make wise decisions.. most of the time, hahaha. Even though he’s my younger brother, I look up to him. I learn a lot from him and to be honest sometimes I feel like the younger brother, hahaha. I love working with him, hanging out with him, talking to him, and just being able to know him. Knowing him has been one of the greatest blessings in my life, being his brother is just amazing.
Abe it’s been a huge blessing growing up with you. I hope that you continue to grow in your relationship with and pursuit of Christ. As gifted as you are, don’t forget the Giver who has given you remarkable talents of creativity, passion, leadership and so much more. Remember above all else, though, of how more than the gifts He’s given you He’s given you Himself through the cross so that you may know Him and His love for you. I know that as awesome and amazing you are, you struggle as well to which I would like to remind you that even in your darkest moments God has not forsaken you. In your moments of unfaithfulness, He remains faithful; and amidst all of your regrets, mistakes, rebellion He loves you the same and gave Himself for you. I thank God so much for showing me His grace in allowing me to know you and be your brother. Happy birthday! I love you, bro.
