Last Supper
A photo series by James Reynolds displaying former Death Row prisoners’ last meal requests before their execution.

Seeing this photo set, I’m reminded of Jesus’ last meal before He was executed by death on the cross. I’m reminded of how His body and blood was poured out for us. How Jesus could have easily and fairly turned around and handed us the cup of God’s wrath for us to drink but instead took it upon Himself and drank every last drop of it so that we might receive a cup resembling the new covenant that we have with Him.
“And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them saying, ‘This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’ And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, ‘This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.’”
